Recently, the INTCO Foundation, together with the Hangzhou Bay Government delegation from Shanghai’s Fengxian District, visited Nanjian County in Dali, Yunnan Province, to conduct research and carry out charitable activities. Representing the Foundation, Secretary-General Jiang Hongfang attended the event and donated INTCO wheelchairs and rollators to the Nanjian County Health Commission. This donation aims to provide mobility aids to local residents with limited mobility and disabilities, allowing them to step outside, experience nature, and enjoy the beauty of life.

The INTCO Foundation was jointly established by INTCO Medical and INTCO Recycling, driven by a mission of care and compassion. Over the years, it has launched numerous charitable projects. This trip to Nanjian is another in-depth implementation of the foundation’s “INTCO Helping You Walk” program, which has made a significant impact in remote rural areas of China. It has greatly addressed the challenges faced by local individuals with disabilities and improved the shortage of mobility medical devices in the region.

The donated wheelchairs and walkers have been distributed to four major hospitals, seven rural health centers, and 80 village clinics in Nanjian. This initiative effectively addresses the mobility challenges faced by individuals with disabilities at the grassroots level, helping them regain hope for a better life. At the donation event, the INTCO Foundation’s care and dedication were highly praised by local medical staff, patients, and villagers. This charitable act has also brought the company closer to the people, further enhancing the INTCO brand’s social influence in the Yunnan region.

During this charitable initiative, staff from the INTCO Foundation also visited several villages and schools in Nanjian, personally exploring the learning environments and needs of local students. They discovered that, although the school buildings had been funded and constructed by the government, the internal teaching facilities, such as desks and chairs, remained very simple and crude, and educational resources were relatively scarce. Moreover, many students came from families with difficult financial conditions. Due to these various factors, the educational journey of local students faces significant challenges.

It was these grassroots visits and firsthand experiences that inspired the INTCO Foundation to further commit to supporting local education. Combining previous charity research results from INTCO employees and their ongoing enthusiasm for public welfare, the Foundation plans to launch a one-on-one educational assistance program for students in Nanjian. This long-term initiative will support impoverished students and improve their learning conditions. Moving forward, Nanjian will serve as a model for replication in other impoverished areas of Yunnan and across the country, putting into practice INTCO’s values.

The INTCO Foundation’s heartfelt journey not only brought convenience to individuals with disabilities in Nanjian, Yunnan Province, but also lit a beacon of hope for the future of local children.
